1 Stamp 5 Cards | SSS United We Craft Blog Party | SSS Be Kind

Hello friends,

I am so excited to be a part of the SSS United We Craft Blog Party on SSS Blog in celebration of our crafting communities , who continue to support, inspire, motivate, encourage and spread kindness through arts and crafts. I myself am a big proof of that, as many of you know that I have been in isolation due to the virus and during this time the one thing that has kept me going is all the inspirational card videos, Instagram stories and images, so thank you for giving me the strength to get through this phase. I am hoping todays Blog Party at SimonSaysStamp does the same to you as well. Over 80 crafters are sharing their inspiration on the SimonSaysStamp Blog and we would love for you to join us to celebrate each other.

I have created 5 cards using the SSS Be Kind Stamp set which was part of the Hey Bestie Release. I did cheat a bit this time and used a few other stamp sets only for their sentiments, but you could just stick to just the sentiments in the SSS Be Kind stamp set and create these cards. I am sending all of these cards to different people who have been in the frontline like medical proffesionals and aslo people who are in the back doing their part to keep our lives moving, like the postman, farmers, grocery store workers and many more. These cards are a geture of gratitue for helping us during this time of #SocailDistancing I have always been very grateful to the art of to card making , but I have realized the power and impact it has during this time of crisis. So I encourage you never to doubt you ability to create something no matter how you feel about it, because when you share it with someone in need it will surely bring a smile on their face and comfort to their heart. Stay united and #unitedwecraft

I kept most of the supplies the same for all the cards as my main idea was to show you the composition of the stamps on a card. The common supplies I used are Black Stonehenge Watercolor Cardstock, Finetec Watercolor, and Gold Embossing. You can easily substitute for a regular black cardstock and use color pencils or any pearlescent paints you may have in your stash. The one thing to keep in mind would be to make sure not to add a lot of water in your paint as a regular cardstock may not be able to hold a lot of water.

Card 1:

  • Create a background using one of the leaf cluster image on the black card stock using gold embossing powder.

  • Paint the leaves in a lighter and darker shade of the aqua. paint he images that on the top lighter and the bottom with the darker shade of aqua . This will help you give some variation and show layers in the pattern.

  • Add White dots in various sizes using the white paint from the set to fill up the black space.

  • Die cut SSS Friend Outline Wafer Die with white cardstock mutlitple times and glue them together. Stamp the additional sentiment from SSS Tiny Words on to SSS Black Cardstock with SSS White Embossing powder and cut it into a thin strip. Adhere the Friend word die cut and the sentiment strip to the pattern panel.

  • Mount the leaf pattern card front onto a top folding white Neenah Solar White 110lbs note card.

Card 2

  • Start by tracing an oval in the center of the black cardstock, this will help in the placement of the leaves around it.

  • Stamp and emboss the leaves around the traced oval. Paint the leaves just like the first card suing Finetec paints. The paint set I have does not have green color in it so i mixed the aqua color and the gold to create a green shade. I painted some leaves with a lot of aqua in it and some with a gold to show different shades of green.

  • Stamp the sentiment Thank you from SSS Thankful Flowers and emboss it with Gold Embossing Powder. Stamp the additional sentiment from SSS Tiny Words sentiment on a black card stock and emboss with white eembossing powder. Cut this additional sentiment and adhere it using foam adhesive under the embossed Thank You sentiment.

  • Erase the pencil mark add a few gem stones around the leaves and mount this panel on to a gold top folding shimmer cardstock using foam tape.

Card 3

  • Stamp the leaf cluster image to the bottom of the black stonehenge cardstock cut at 4x51/4 inches. Color the images just like before.

  • Splatter white finite paint concentrating the heavier splatter at the bottom of the cardstock and slowly tapering off to the top.

  • Die cut the sentient Thanks from SSS Big Thanks Die on to a Gold Mirror cardstock and fun foam. Adhere them together. Stamp the additional sentiment from SSS Thankful Floral stamp set onto a black cardstock and heat set it with white embossing powder. Cut this sentiment into strip and add foam tape behind it.

  • Adhere the Large Thanks and the additional sentiment on to the colored black panel. Add a few gem stones around the sentiment. Mount this panel onto a side folding landscape white notecard.

Card 4

  • Stamp two different shapes of leaves on the top and the diagonal bottom corners of the Black Stonehenge cardstock. Gold emboss and color them just as the previous cards.

  • Splatter gold paint concentrating the splatter diagonally center of the cardstock.

  • Stamp and white emboss the large sentiment from SSS Thankful flowers set with white embossing powder directly to the painted cardstock panel.

  • Stamp the additional sentiments from the same Thankful Flower set on a black cardstock and gold emboss it. Cut these sentence into strips. Adhere the smaller sentiment strip to the top right of the large sentiment and longer strip to the bottom of the white embossed sentiment using foam adhesive.

  • Add a few gem stones and mount this panel onto a top folding white notecard.

Card 5:

  • Start by creating a side folding notecard using acetate. Stamp the leaves using a Glue Stamp pad and add Gold Perfect Pearls., dust of the excess. Using glue pad helps the perfect the Perfect Pearls to adhere on the acetate with out rubbing off.

  • Die cut 2 black rectctangles and one white rectangle of the same size using one of the SSS Basic Nested Rectangle Die. If you don't have a die you can just cut them all at eh sam size using paper tripmmer. it is important for them to be all the same size though.

  • Stamp the sentiment from SSS Just Because Word Mix 2 stamp set on to a black card stock using gold embossing powder. Cut the sentiment either using the coordination die or your paper trimmer. Mount this sentiment with foam tape to the center of the stamped acetate front. Add a few gem stones just where the black cardstock is visible.

  • Adhere one of the black die cut rectangle to the back of the from acetate panel making sure to add liquid glue only to the place where the foam adhesive of the sentiment shows.

  • Add a white die cut rectangle to the inside of the acetate notecard exactly making sure the placement is exalted where the black die cut rectangle is.

  • Adhere the 2nd black rectangle to the back of the notecard covering up the glue showing from the white rectangle.
