Today I have a story to share, in my younger years growing up in the Middle-east there wasn't much greenery and flowers, now things have changed with technology and trade if a country like Doha where there is to be only dry lands and desert areas has become green and colorful. There were only a few flowers that I had seen in real life. Tulip was one of those flowers that I had only seen in books and always wondered how they felt, looked or even smelled and it soon became a part of my bucket list to visit a Tulip garden. Fast forward many years later I married Sujith and flew into Minnesota on a very cold January morning, where I could feel my spine going numb because of the bitter cold. Never did I experience such winter, I wore a heavy jacket when it got to be 60F on the coldest day in Doha (The City I grew up), and now in Minnesota I froze.

Sujith and I bought our first home in MN which had a very small yard with no plants or bushes just a small Maple tree in the front. Many months of winter passed by with no sign of spring and then one morning, I saw a little green shoot growing off the brown grass. Sujith said it could be a weed, but my joy to see the green amongst the brown kept me from pulling it out. A few days later the small shoot grew taller and had a bud on it and I couldn't tell what it was, but then you guessed it right to my surprise it was a beautiful red Tulip. I literally started jumping with joy to have seen a tulip in real life, Sujith was just amazed and even a bit surprised by my reaction. This is the best part of the story, the very next year when I was pregnant with our first child my loving incredible husband bought us ticket to visit Amastradam in April to see the Tulip festival and what joy that was. Bucket list, Tulip Garden Check.

This card is a reminder of that beautiful day in the Tulip garden! I did faux water-coloring using SSS Dye inks. I used SSS Layered Tulip and Just Because Word Mix 2 stamp set from the Lucky To Know You release. I have a video below showing you on how I made this card please click the image to watch the video.
