Boutique cards/ Simple Copic Coloring

Updated: Sep 11, 2019

Simple boutique cards

Hello friends,

I love going to stationary stores and shows just see the beautiful design and simplicity of designer cards. i am currently taking the Clean And Simple Boutique card class from Altenew Academy and I am simply loving it. I took my inspiration from the second days class for background building. The stamp set I used is from the Summer Swirls stamp set. I chose the smallest of the ice cream cones from the stamp set and stamped it several times on the upper half of the card stock.

The coloring of the images was the fun part. Unlike usual comic coloring where we do multi color blending, I just used two colors for coloring. The idea was to keep the colors very soft and pastel with visible shading. I also made sure to leave some white edges showing as this added to the digital watercolor look of the images. After I was done coloring all the images it was time for the sentiment. I chose the sentiment from the same stamp set and stamp it in two different colors. I also added some Nuvo Glitter drops on the shaded area for some shimmer.

When you do any kind of Clean and Simple cards make sure to keep a lot of white space in order to draw your attention the vocal images, in this case it the ice cream cones. Also choosing a good heavy weight white card stock adds to the luxury feel of the card. Stamping he images crisp is very important and keeping the card clean while working is the key to have a very nice finish. I have a video up on my Youtube channel on how I made this card.

i hope you will give a go coloring images with jut two markers and make some boutique style cards. leave me a comment. I always like to heat from you. Have a great day and see you soon, until then keep sharing some handmade love.
