Partial Background Stamping | Rubbernecker Stamps

Hi friends, today I have a very easy card to share. I love illustrative and sketchy art, so for this card I went that route. For my background I used Europe Travel background stamp from Rubbernecker and the girl stamp is called Belle from Rubbernecker. I kept the color scheme for this card very simple, Pink Gray and Black.

Paris will always be close to my heart, as that is where my husband and I honeymooned. It may seem very cliched but my favorite spot whenever we go there is the Gardens near the Eiffel Tower. We have been to Paris many times but never gone up the tower because of my fear of heights, but the view even from the bottom of the tower is beautiful. In my younger years I always thought of romance in association to being in Paris. The french bistros, or the beautiful language and not to mention their desserts. But marrying my husband changed that perspective for me, love and romance is always around no matter the place, though Sujith is not the romantic type sounds crazy right, For a long time into our marriage we would visit Paris at least once a year, but a few years ago we realized it had become more of a tradition and it never felt the same as the first time. We haven't gone back to Paris for over a decade now but it still remains fresh in my mind even today. We have realized traditions take up too much of a space in our lives as we are keeping up to it so as not to break it. But it is in the breaking of these traditions I have come to experience so much more and to explore so many new things and to cherish and grow our love for each other more than the first time in Paris. This card is for Paris and all those beautiful nights by the Eiffel.

Card Making:

Start by stamping the Europe Travel Background stamp using very light shade of ink. I used Antique linen but you can use a light gray or a light brown shade of ink as well. I only wanted the Paris party the background stamp for my card today, so I made sure I was inking only that area of the background stamp. I also used a baby wipe to dab of the excess ink around the selected area. I stamped this image on a white card stock.

Once you are done it is time to do some sketch lines using a micro tip black pen. I drew in some sketchy lines where the artist had illustrated the tower and the bridge and also added some additional sketches around it to show trees shrubs and some buildings.

Stamp Belle on to a White card stock using a copic friendly ink and color her. I kept the color scheme as I said earlier to the very minimum. I have added the list of colors used at the bottom. After coloring fussy cut the image close to the black line.

Die cut the black sketched panel using the largest of the Nested Rectangle die from Rubbernecker. Stamp and emboss the sentiment Lady With Class, on a black cardstock. Cut this sentiment panel into fish tail banner shape using a paper trimmer or scissors and adhere it to the top right corner of the rectangle sketched panel using foam tape.

Adhere the girl using foam adhesive to the left of the tower. Mount this rectangle panel on tot a top folding white notecard. Add a few iridescent sequins around the images and you are done.
