Hello there, Preeti here sharing a fun and whimsical card with you today. It feels like yesterday when I finished making all Christmas cards and now I am already making Valentine's Day cards, where does time fly? Anyhow for today's card I used the Rubbernecker Lift Off Stamp and Die Set, which is an adorable set.
This card has a lot of white space, which means it is important to create a very colorful and bright focal image. I started by ink blending various colors of distress oxide inks onto a white panel to create a galaxy sky. There is really no particular technique when creating a galaxy sky. The only rule to keep in mind is to make sure the colors you choose blend with each other smoothly without creating mud and choose colors that would represent a night sky. After the blending was complete I splattered the entire panel with white gouche paint and die cut a circle using Nested Circle Stitch Die Cut
Once the background was ready, it was time to stamp and color the images from the Lift Off stamp set. I stamped the images on a Neenah Solar White 80lbs cardstock using a black copic friendly ink. I went with the same colors shown on the stamp packaging which made it very easy to choose the markers for coloring. After the images were all colored I die cut them all using the coordinating dies.
I had stamped the rocket image twice and colored just the bear on one of them. I fussy cut the bear image, using a fine detail scissors and adhered a ¼ x 1 inch strip of cardstock behind the bear. I cut a slit at the base of the bear of the other rocket ship and tuck the strip in it and added foam adhesive to the back of the fussy cut bear, this created some dimension. I also added some glossy accents to the rocket ship to give it a shine and some glitter to the moon.
I finished the card by adding foam adhesive to the back of the galaxy background and adhering it to a white side folding notecard. The additional colored elements were adhered using foam tape and liquid glue on top of the galaxy background. The sentiment was heat embossed using white embossing powder. The sentiment is also from the same stamp set. Below is the image of the finished card.
