Altenew Life is Awesome

As I mentioned in my blog yesterday, I am participating in the Altenew Educators Certification Program, today's cards are made for the course topic. I am currently doing layering 1 class, which by the way is a free class offered on their website. if you are interested here is the link for that. Nicole has been focusing on how to layer different styles of layering stamps. Today I choose the Life Is Awesome stamp set from Altenew, I like the painterly style of this stamp set. Nicole made a very clean and simple card using the Painted Flowers stamp set in lesson 4 of the layering 1 class. She stamped the floral images on two corners of a white cardstock and the adhered a sentiment in the center. I was inspired be her sketch to make these cards. The color combo I chose are autumn shades.

I made two cards exactly same card design, just changed the embellishments on each of them. Just changing these elements make a lot of difference to the card you are making. You can either make it look clean and simple or step it up.

For the first card I stamped all the floral images using Altenew crips dye inks in various colors. After I was done stamping all the floral and leaf images , I stamped the sentiment in the center using the Altenew Jet Black ink. I wanted the card to be pretty simple, but I wasn't very happy about all the empty spaces between the floral and the leaf images. I wanted something very subtle yet having volume. I added some dots using my Sakura Clear Star gellyroll pen.The dots added interest and sparkle to the card. Keep in mind when you are adding dots, you want them to vary in sizes to give some texture. I fished it with some Pretty Pink Posh sequins mix.

For the second card I did exactly the same layout as I did for the first one. The only change I made was in the way it was embellished . I added some black paint spatter avoiding all the floral and leaf elements. Finished the card using Pretty Pink Posh iridescent gems. A little variation can create a lot of impact on you cards.

ALTENEW CRISP DYE INK

Flower 1- Frosty Pink, Pink Pearl, Coral Bliss, Coral Berry,Ruby Red.

Leaves- Parrot, Moss ( stamped a few leaves second generation)

I hope you liked the cards I made today. Please leave me a comment on your thoughts, likes or dislikes (only constructive criticism please:). Have a great day, keep shining and sharing handmade kindness.

Hi!

Preeti, you are suppose to share maximum 3 cards per course and that too within the same post. Should I mark this as your project for All About Layering 2 post? Also, when you link your entry, please make sure to title it as Your Name-Course Name for our convenience.

This is a gorgeous card and your choice of colour is amazing. I also really like the layout and splatters.

Just confirm via email about the question I asked so I can proceed accordingly. Thanks!
