It is March already??? Where did Feb go? Either way it is time to celebrate the new release from SSS called, Lucky To Know You . Have I mentioned how Lucky and blessed I am to know you? For todays post I am showcasing this two piece (Yeah I have summer on my mind, the pool side and the beach. Not that I can ever get into a two piece just saying!!) Happy Birthday Die from CZ designs. In order to keep the focus on the die cuts only I decided not to use any stamps instead I used dye inks from SSS to create fun backgrounds. These cards are super simple and very to easy to make and most of all I am sure most of us will have all the products used to make these in our stash. I made a few of these as an emergency birthday stock
Card 1:
Start by adding dots around the note card using different colors of dye inks. I used Fantastix to apply my dots. You can use the eraser side of your pencil to add dots or even a QTip will work. I also added some dots using embossing ink and added some Gold Perfect Pearls to add some shimmer. If you don't have perfect pearl you can add the dots with embossing ink and gold emboss it as well, or just skip adding gold. In the end it will still look great. As you are adding the dots around the card try to keep the center clear.
I die cut the Happy Birthday in black card stock multiple times and the the shadow of the word die in vellum. I adhered them all together using liquid glue. Add some shimmer on the black letters using a shimmer pen, this is totally optional.
Add the sentiment on the colorful dot panel. This is a one layer card. I created the dot background on a side folding white 110lbs Neenah Solar White Note card.
Card 2:
Hold your ink pad in an angle and gently drag it from the top edge of a white card panel flicking it downwards. This will give a a very dry paint brush effect with colors. Repeat it with multiple colors of dye ink. Make sure to over lap the colors to give a seamless transition.
For the die cut sentiment I did exactly the same thing as the earlier card.
Adhere this colorful panel on to a black side folding notecard and you are done. How is easy was that?
SSS Ink Pads Used:
I hope, I have inspired you to use your color ink pads to create different backgrounds for your cards. So happy you could join me to celebrate the new release from SSS. Please visit Simonsaysstamp for all the products from this release. I will see on my next post with more new and creative ideas for making cards until then happy stamping and keep shining!!
