Altenew Fresh Start Stamps/Dies/Stencils/Embossing Folders Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Updated: Jan 5, 2021

Hello my crafty friends, I am super excited to share some amazing products from the new Altenew January 2021 release. This post is a part of the release blog hop and if yu are hoping along then you must n=be coming from the amazing Emily Midgett blog Sixth Street Sundries

how cool is that name!!! To celebrate this release Altenew also has a giveaway in this hop. I have all the details to the Giveaway in t the bottom of the page. I have added the blog order to the bottom of this post as well.

This release is packed with some amazing stamps, dies, embossing folders stencils etc.... I am showcasing a few of the products from this release, so sit back relax and have fun hopping.

My first card features the Vintage Garden stamp and coordinating die set from the Altenew January 2021 release and the sentiment is from the new Block Sentiments stamp and die set.

To make the card:

  • Stamp the florals and leaves from the Vintage Garden stamp set on a watercolor yardstick using gold embossing powder.

  • Color the images with your choice of Altenew watercolor mediums (brush markers, woodless, pan set etc...). I used the woodless watercolor pencils. In order to add more depth to the flowers and leaves you can go in with color pencils.which is what I have done.

  • Once all the images are colored and dry go ahead and die cut using the Vintage Garden Coordinating Die set.

  • For the background, stamp the flowers and the leaves from the set using embossing ink on a kraft card stock.

  • Add gold or copper perfect pearls over the entire panel. The embossing ink helps the perfect pearls to adhere to it. (You can set it by walking the panel through spritzed water, but I don't find that necessary ). I love the look of perfect pearls on kraft card stock it almost looks like designer paper

  • Stamp the sentiment form the Block sentiment set using Obsedian black ink and die cut using the coordinating die.

  • Adhere the flowers and the leaves towards the top of the craft panel in an angle and adhere the banner sentiment under the flowers.

  • To complete the look you can add a few gem stones

2nd Card:

  • Stamp the Enchanted roses stamp set with Obsidian black ink and heat set it with clear embossing poser on a watercolor card stock. The Enchanted Roses stamp set is a large stamp which can be used on many different card sizes. This card is a standard 51/2x41/4

  • Color the floral image with your choice of Altenew watercolor mediums. I have used the Altenew's Artist's Watercolor 24 Pan Set. I wanted to have monochromatic look for this project so I used different shades of blue to color my image.

  • When finished coloring, let it dry and then fussy cut it using a detail scissor

  • Adhere the fussy cut image using foam adhesives onto a white card stock panel. Splatter the panel with white, gray and blue watercolors.

  • Stamp and die cut the sentiment on white card stock with Obsidian black ink suing the Block Sentiment stamp set.

  • Adhere the sentiment vertically on the left edge of the panel using foam Adhesive.

  • Adhere the finished panel onto a top folding gray notecard.

3rd Card:

  • Stamp the Enchanted Roses on to a watercolor card stock and color it with your choice of Altenew Watercolors. I used the Watercolor 36 Pan set.

  • Let it dry and when completely dry fussy cut using a fine details scissor.

  • Die cut the New release Grid Cover Die using white card stock. Cut away the sides of the die leaving the edges slightly uneven.

  • Tint the white Ink spray using a light pink watercolor from the 36 pan set and dry brush it in the center of the Kraft cardstock. When dry splatter some black paint keeping mostly in the center where the pink paint is.

  • Adhere the Die cut Grid over the painted craft card stock.

  • Adhere the fussy cut Enchanted Roses on the Grid die with foam adhesive.

  • Die cur the sentiment from the new Simple Greeting Die set with pink and white caardstock.

  • Stamp the Additional sentiment from the Enchanted Rose set on to a white card stock with black ink and cut it into thin fishtail label shape.

  • Adhere this finished Kraft panel to a white 5x7 note card.

I hope I have inspired you to use these products in different ways. Have fun hoping along next stop is Reiko Tsuchida
