Hello Friends welcome to the new PAF release called the African Daisy. I am so glad you are joining me on my blog from the very creative Joylita Dsouza blog. I hope are getting tons of inspirations as you hop along.
African daisies are such bright and beautiful flowers and they do come in an array of colors. The most commonly I have seen are the pink or the purple ones, but they do come in an array of other colors as well. As the name suggest these flowers are native to Africa and are also known as Cape or blue eyed daisies. These flowers can either be perennials or annuals. Its the Perennial kinds that are more in the pinks and purple tones- scientific name Osteospermum. And the annuals have a more yellow to orange color range- scientific name Dimorphotheca. I went with the orange colored annual flowers.
I stamped these African Daisies multiple times on a watercolor card stock using Altenew Obsidian Black ink and then pulled out my Altenew Artist watercolor pan set. the rich and vibrant colors of this pan set worked beautifully for my coloring of these flowers as well as for the background.
For the flowers to pop I wanted the background to have a rich dark colors. If you notice the background is in a contrasting color hue. the flowers are painted warm colors where as the background is painted in cooler colors and that's what helps these flowers to pop.
Thank you for hanging out with me on my blog next on the hop is Rosie Neustaedte. Have a wonderful day.
