Hello friends and welcome to the new Paint A Flower release by Altenew called Clematis Josephine. We are having a blog hop starting at Altenew's blog, page and in addition to the blog hop Altenew has an awesome giveaway to celebrate this beautiful release. I am guessing you are coming from Joylita Dsouza blog. I will add the entire blog hop list and the giveaway details to the bottom of the page.
Alright then moving on to my project for today. If you have been following me, you know how much I love to color floral stamps. As I have said this many times in the past, Altenew never disappoints me with their floral stamps ever. I look forward to coloring and expanding my coloring techniques every time on these beautiful images.
I sometimes feel like pictures don't do justice to the coloring in real life and probably this is one of those times. For the card size I went with a mini slim line which measures 6x3 inches. I started with a white card stock cut at 6x3 and stamped the PAF in=mage using Jet black Crisp ink which is an alcohol friendly ink.
I colored the entire image with gray tones using my Altenew Artist Markers first. Then I added color over the images using color pencils. I used my Prisma color pencils for this part. My idea behind the coloring technique was to create an old black and white pictures. In the past when there were no color pictures, photographers would take pictures in black and white and then laboriously hand tint the pictures.
Here are two old images that I found on the net which were had tinted.
After I had finished coloring I colored the entire background with mauve shades of Artist markers and then add the dots using the Feeling Dotty stencil with white pigment ink. I made sure to avoid the colored image. The sentiments are from the same stamp set. I hope you liked the coloring technique and will give it a go and I would love to know your thoughts.
I am the last on the hop and I hope you have enjoyed the blog hop and gotten inspired to used this amazing stamp set on your next project. Have a wonderful day.
