Cards Using Background Stamp| Feat SSS Stamp

Updated: Jan 25, 2020

Hello friends,

I have two cards today using the new background stamp from SimonSaysSamp called You Are. This is a 6x6 stamp with words of love and encouragement. My husband and I will be celebratMing our 18th Wedding Anniversary in January and the words in this large background stamp speaks a lot about what is in my heart. He is the love of my life and with out him I know , I could have never done or be what I am today. I had a very troubled child hood and love was something I missed the most. I also did not have any one to encourage me or show me what I could do. But when I met my husband which was nothing but God's Grace everything changed for me. He showed me what unconditional love meant and brought the best out of me. So these cards are a dedication to my husband to tell him how much I love him.

Any how going back to the cards I stamped the large background on to a Neenah Solar White 80lbs cardstock using SSS embossing ink and heat embossed it with SSS Fine Detail White embossing powder. I then blended three shades of Distress oxide inks to create an ombre effect. The inks I used were Worn Lipstick, Abandoned Coral and Candied Apple. This brought the white heat embossed background to life. I also ink blended Candied Apple Distress Oxide Ink onto a white cards stock.

Card 1- For the first card,I used a SSS Deco Heart Wafer die which has two layers to it. I used the solid heart die to cut from the top center of the embossed and ink blended caardstock. I also die cut the Deco Heart using white cardstock. I die cut the same solid heart from the Candied Apple ink blended cardstock as well. I adhered an Acetate Sheet behind the die cut window on the embossed and ink blended cardstock as this was going to be a shaker card.

On a top folding Neenah Solar white 110 lbs cardstock I adhered the solid red heart in the top center, which would be visible from the window of the top panel. I added some sequins, glitter and tiny hearts on the red heart and placed the embossed and ink blended layer on top using foam tape. I had also created a well behind the acetate window heart fro contain the shaker elements.I adhered the filigree die cut heart onto the shaker window and added an additional sentiment from SSS called Love Messages on to a black cardstock with white embossing.I added a few gem stones from Pretty Pink Posh and the first card was complete. My Favorite part of our marriage is "US "(My Love and I ).

Card 2- For the second card I stamped the You are background stamp onto side folding Neenah Solar White 110lbs cardstock using Versa Fine Onyx Black ink. Then I die cut a heart frame using two different sizes of hearts from SSS Nested Heart die set on to the candied Apple ink blended cardstock.

I then took the solid heart which I had die cut previously from the embossed and ink blended cardstock and inter locked it with the frame die cut heart. This card represents when I am "WITH" my husband (Sounds Cheesy I know, but very true:)). I stamped and embossed the sentiment white on black and adhered it to the left of the hearts. The sentiment is from the same SSS stamp set called Love Messages. There are some really beautiful sentiments in this stamp set. I finished this card using Pretty Pink Posh jewels and added shimmer to the red frame heart using Nuvo Glitter Gloss Pen.

I would love to hear your love story too, share with me in the comment below. Have a great day and stay tuned for more card inspirations. See you next time until then be creative and share handmade love.
