Ellen Hutson | Mondo Chrysanthemum

Hi Friends, welcome back. I have a a very simple but an impactful card for you today. I know it is not exactly Chrysanthemum season right now in the US, but this Mondo chrysanthemum from Ellen Hutson has been sitting on my table for quiet some time now and smiling at me. I gave in today and created a card with it. The focus of this card is more on the coloring of the flower. i kept the colors to a very minimum. I chose gray and gold as my secondary colors and deep shades of pink as the primary color.

I recently saw this video by Amy Rysavy where she showed an awesome idea for using perfect pearls over Gold Delicata ink. The effect was so beautiful almost like foiling and that's what i did here for these images.

  • Start by stamping the flowers and the leaves on Stonehenge white card stock using a gray ink. The stamp set I used for these images are from Ellen Hutson called Mondo Chrysanthemum. Color the first layer of the flowers with two shades of epic colors in pink for the flowers and two shades of gray for the Gray. i used RV02, RV00, W1 W3. Add details after the copic coloring is done with Prisma Color pencils.

  • After the coloring is all done, stamp the images with the Delicata gold ink and apply perfect pearl for an amazing faux foil effect.

  • Die cut the word "You" from Ellen Hutson's You Rock Die set using a gold glitter card stock. Emboss the additional sentiment on a gray cardstock with white embossing powder and cut it into a thin strip. The sentiment is from Ellen Hutson's Mondo Gerbera set. Before adhering the sentiment to the panel splatter with gold paint

  • Run the Delicata ink on all the four sides of the colored panel. Adhere the sentiment using foam adhesive and scatter some gem stones . Mount this panel on a side folding A6 (41/2x61/4) cream colored notecard using foam tapes. Now your card is all finished.

Click on the image below for a video on how I made this card and the coloring.

Thank you so much for stopping and leaving me comments and love , I always appreciate it and it does warm my heart. I will see you next time until then keep crafting and spreading handmade kindness and love.
