Altenew Craft Your Life Project Kit: Seasonal Blooms Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Updated: Jul 14, 2021

Hello my crafty friends, i am so excited to be celebrating with Altenew on their very frist release of their Craft Your Life Project Kit. to celebrate this release Altenew is having a blog hop and an amazing giveaway. I have all the details of the give away at the bottom of this post. the blog hop has some very amazing crafters and designers and I am so humbled to be a part of this. If you have been hopping along I am guessing you are coming from the very talented Nenette S. Madero blog post.

I have two projects to share with you from this release, so sit back and relax and have fun hopping along.

So this kit comes with a large stamp set with coordinating dies, stencils and embossing folder, which all coordinate with each other. For my first card I used the large stamp set, which stamped using a very light gray ink called Morning Frost, as I wanted to have a no line effect

I colored the flowers and the leaves using Altenew Artist Markers from various sets. The images in this stamps are quite large and that mede it very easy to color and add some texural elements to the petals and leaves.

After the flowers and the eaves were colored i colored the background using some blue green colors, starting with a dark hue at the bottom edge and fading off to the white. After I had fished coloring I felt like the backgrounded need a little something. So I added some glistening light effect in a meadow using my white color pencil. For the effect I colored in some circles in various sizes all over the blue green background. I stamped and embossed the sentiment in white in the center of the panel. the sentiment is also from the same set.

For my second set of cards I used the embossing folder. I really loved how both these card turned out, the end result was really stunning and I decided to make many of them as thank you card for my daughters graduation party

To make the card, I first embossed it on a black card stock. For a good crisp embossing, a good tip is to mist you paper with water very lightly using a mister and then run it through the embossing machine. I also like using a really thick card stock, I used 110lbs as this also adds to a good embossed result.

Once the I had finished the dry embossing process, I brushed my antistatic powder bag over the embossing surface. After the surface was quoted with the powder I took an embossing ink pad and very lightly brushed it over the embossed parts. Keep in mind not to use a heavy hand as that could press down your embossed areas.

For my embossing power I went with Altenew Rose Gold Embossing powder as this was one of the colors at my daughter's party. I then heat set the entire powder. it was like magic as the powder melted to reveal this amazing metallic look. I also added some rose gold splatters from the Altenew Metallic watercolors inks palette. To finish off the cards, I die cut the sentiment " Thanks" from Seasonal Blossom die set in Altenew Gold Glitter card stock.

I hope I have inspired you do try out this dry and heat embossing technique as well as some no line coloring using this Seasonal Blossom Card Kit. Next on the hop is the awesome and talented crafter Seeka. Happy hopping, I really appreciate you leaving all the kind and thoughtful comments.
