I am so excited to be guest designing for Waffle flower this month. I am showcasing the Bouquet Builder 6 stamp set illustrated be Karla Jodoin. I love love love the look of bright flowers on dark backgrounds. Here is another card I had made a few weeks ago with dark background. Any how back to this card, I started with the placement of the flowers. I created a mask for this flower and stamped it multiple times all over SSS Copic Friendly Cardstock. I choose some warm and rich shades of yellow and green copic colors for the flowers and the leaves.
Copic Colors Used :
Flowers- E99, YR24 Y17 Y15 Y13
Large Leaves - G28 G17 G14
Small Leaves- G98 G94 YG64 YG03
Background- T8
After the flowers were all done I colored the background using a dark gray copic marker, I used T8. To give the background a rustic surface I masked all the flowers once again and swiped SSS White Pigment ink in multiple directions. This made the dark gray surface look very textured. I added some white dots to the center of the flowers using a White Gel Pen in different sizes, the white dots in the center draws your eyes to the flowers. The sentiment was stamped and embossed with Brutus Monroe White embossing powder directly on the flower panel. The sentiment is from Waffle Flower called the Label Sentiments. I finished the card by adding some yellow Pretty Pink Posh Gems and adhered this colored panel on to a 110Lbs Neenah Solar White side folding notecard.
I hope you will give dark backgrounds and bright flowers a go as well.Thats it for today, see you next time until then keep sharing handmade love.
